I illustrated Hypericum calycinum (St. John’s Wort) using colored pencils. In this drawing, I focused on the plant’s structure, showing the shape and arrangement of the leaves, stems, and yellow flowers. I used layering and shading to capture the details and textures accurately.

The plant used for this illustration grew in the front garden at my previous home. I love the flowers, and I’m really pleased with how I captured the vivid colours, and with how the shadows create a sense of depth.
